Q1: I am using Hometrack and cannot view the maps that are on the website.  What do I need to do to view them?

A1: You need to install the Adobe SVG Viewer software onto your computer.  It can be downloaded from the Adobe Website.  You may need to get your IT department to help you with this.

Q2: I am trying to use Business Objects and am refreshing a report that uses prompts but it is taking a long time to respond.

A2: OLD REPLY: You need to have Java 1.4 or 1.5 installed on your computer.  Other versions of Java will not work.

A2: UPDATED REPLY: The latest version of Business Objects is version 11.5 and this requires Java 6 Update 13 to be installed on your computer.  Other versions of Java may not work.

Q3: I am trying to use the Experian data within the GIS and the averge value of households is wrong at Lower Super Output Area and above.

A3: The average property values for each property type are calculated at Census Output Area level from the total value of the hosuing stock for a particular house type.  When this data is aggregated up to Lower Super Output Area or above the average is not recalculated.  Instead, the averages for each Census Output Area are added together resulting in an incorrect figure.

Q4: How do COAS, LSOAS and wards etc relate to one another or what is the geography hierarchy?

A4: The order of the geography hierarchy and how the different levels relate to one another is as follows in ascending order (lowest to highest): COA (Census Output Area), LSOA (Lower Super Output Area), Ward, MSOA (Middle Super Output Area), LA (Local Authority), Region.
