The results of the private sector stock condition survey carried out by David Adamson Partners in 2006 and CPC in 2009.
Private sector housing includes owner-occupied dwellings and the private rented sector but excludes those let by housing associations and local authorities.
The estimates cover:
- Dwellings which fail the Decent Homes Standard
- Dwellings which fail the Decent Homes Standard due to:
- being unfit (2006)
- Inadequate thermal comfort
- A Category 1 hazard (2009)
- Disrepair
- Non-modern facilities and services
- Vulnerable households
- Non-decent homes occupied by vulnerable households
- The proportion of vulnerable households in decent homes (PSA7 - 2006)
- Households in fuel poverty
- Dwellings with a SAP rating less than 30 (2006) and less than 35 (2009).
The results for each sub-area of the survey have been combined with the distribution, or spread, of conditions defined by the Building Research Establishment Stock Model ,to give a more detailed picture than would be possible from a survey alone. Thus the resulting maps and data are a more up-to-date and accurate model of housing conditions in South Holland.
See ‘Decent Homes’ for detailed definitions of the above factors
