Community Insights is a unique range of indicators developed by CACI to identify issues in key public service areas:

  • Health
  • Economy
  • Community Safety
  • Housing
  • Environment
  • Schools and families

Each of the policy area Community Insights indicators is calculated in the same way. The appendix of the Community Insights User Guide – see below – shows the available data within each dataset and which of the numeric variables are contained within the overall score.

Both government and commercial data have been used in the creation of Community Insights. Some variables are modelled from national surveys, others are provided via third parties.

Data is taken from:

  • The 2001 census
  • The expenditure and food survey
  • The British crime survey
  • Joint unemployment and vacancies operating system
  • British Market Research Bureau’s Target Group Index Survey
  • CACI PayCheck
  • Mortgage Market Database
  • Joint Industry Committee on Population Standards
  • CACI Ocean variables
